Pouyan Tabasinejad

Pouyan Tabasinejad is a Founding Advisor of Progress Toronto. Pouyan is the Policy Chair of the Iranian Canadian Congress, a non-profit and non-partisan organization dedicated to safeguarding the interests of Iranian-Canadians. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in History and another in Immigration Studies and he is currently pursuing his PhD at the Schulich School of Business at York.

Pouyan has been active on a number of progressive issues, including re-establishing diplomatic ties between Iran and Canada, combating banking discrimination against Iranian-Canadians, and advocating for foreign trained immigrant professionals. He has also presented before the Senate Foreign Affairs and International Trade Committee and the House of Commons Committee on Canadian Heritage.

Pouyan is intimately connected to the North York neighbourhood of Willowdale, where he has lived for 10 years and where he serves on the board of his condominium building.
